Islam the Way of Life
Islam the way of life means Islam as a way of life revealed by Allah SWT, namely the One who created humans and the entire universe along with all life in it. He is the One who created man, gives life and death, and provides all the means of life and provides complete instructions for humans so that they can live life in this universe as well as possible, in accordance with the formation and nature of humanity, so that humans can achieve prosperity and prosperity. happiness. Allah SWT ensured that Islam as a perfect rule of life in accordance with His words in Surah Al-Maidah verse 3 which reads, "...Today I have perfected your religion for you, and have completed My favors for you, and I have approved of Islam. as your religion,…”
As a religion perfected by Allah SWT, Islam regulates all aspects of human life. These aspects include:
1. Islam regulates the relationship of a human being with his Creator, namely Allah SWT (habluminallah), in various regulations regarding belief and worship.
2. Islam regulates human relations with themselves in various regulations regarding food, clothing, and morals or morality.
3. Islam regulates human relations with fellow human beings (hablum minannas) in various regulations regarding mu'amalat (sales and purchases, leases, debts, etc.) Islam is orderly according to the rules of Allah SWT. Islam also has rules for criminal law sanctions (uquubaat) to maintain the order of all the above human relations.
4. Islam regulates human relations with the natural surroundings (hablum minal alam) in terms of protecting the surrounding environment and not destroying it, because among God's creatures on earth, namely humans, animals, and plants, only humans have reason, because that is Allah. ordered humans to protect the environment, not animals or plants.
With Islamic regulations, the dimensions of human life will be orderly and disciplined. Because, when a Muslim goes through life, he will think and realize that he is a servant of Allah who will return to Him. And no matter how small the action, good or bad, we should not take it for granted. Because, everything will be rewarded and everything will be seen by the perpetrator himself.
Islam as a way of life has several roles, where these roles can guide us in living life, the role of Islam as The Way of Life is as follows:
1. As a guide in life, it means that Islam forms a harmonious personality so that all the main elements of life consist of experiences that soothe the soul and also so that we are able to face various problems that come calmly.
2. As a helper in difficulties, because people who are not religious tend to face life's problems pessimistically, in contrast to religious people who face problems optimistically and believe that Allah will not give trials that exceed the strength of their servants.
3. As inner peace, a believer will not feel anxious because he knows that everything he has is a gift from Allah, in contrast to an unbeliever who always feels restless about what he has.
4. As a moral controller, in Islam it is taught to respect others but is not ordered to ask for respect, besides that there are many other moral lessons such as dressing, behaving, speaking, and so on.
Then, the purpose of Islam itself is the same as the purpose of the creation of humans as caliphs on earth, namely worshiping Allah SWT, continuing Islamic teachings, maintaining religious benefits, maintaining offspring, carrying out human roles as caliphs, and others. That's why we as the people of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, the Prophet who brought the teachings of Islam, should make Islam our way in life.
